Suspicious Package Prompts Bomb Squad Response Near Wax Museum

Pennington County communications received a report of a suspicious package in the parking lot near the National Presidential Wax Museum in Keystone. Responding units staged at least 500 feet away while local law enforcement secured the area and multiple fire and rescue units were dispatched.

The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation Bomb Squad evaluated the package, declared it safe, and issued an all-clear. The incident location was about three miles down the hill from Mount Rushmore.
